The Fab Clinic story
Fab Clinic was born in 2015 but was first known as Anew Me Appearance and skin. The journey really started in 1997 with a very special pledge, the nurses pledge. As a registered nurse, my passion is to always care for people who were at times at their most vulnerable. This was my role for 10 years before deciding to immigrate to New Zealand in 2007, where a new path waited for me. Appearance medicine became a new interest and the more I learned, the more I realised that I can make a positive difference in the way people feel about themselves. Every day, I feel thankful and privileged to help, whoever choose to do so, to look how they want the world to see them.
The face behind the story
Hi, I am Elana Snyman. I am a New Zealand registered nurse, originally from South Africa. I started my nursing career in 1997 and graduated in 2000. My past nursing experience include, cardio vascular nursing, theater, gastroenterology nursing, HIV, AIDS and Tuberculosis education, occupational health, practice nursing and community health care, integrative health and appearance medicine. I been practicing in the appearance medicine field since 2007. I am passionate about skin health, wellness and safe practice and continue to develop my skills in appearance and holistic medicine by regularly attending national and international conferences and training. I am also a mum of two very busy, sporty teenage boys and a wife to the love of my life Riaan. If I am not at the office , you will probably find me next to a rugby field, supporting their passion. In my spare time I enjoy walking, music, dancing and the occasional furniture up cycle.
My pledge
I pledged myself to the service of humanity and endeavour to practise my profession with conscience and with dignity. I will maintain, by all the means in my power, the honour and noble tradition of my profession. The total health of my patients will be my first consideration. I will hold in confidence all personal matters coming to my knowledge. I will not permit consideration of religion, nationality, race or social standing to intervene between my duty and my patient. I will maintain the utmost respect for human life.
